In 2019,
I looked like I had it all.
A busy life in London.
A career in law.
A life that ticked every box.
But inside, I felt hollow.
Like I was living someone else’s story.

One summer day in Turkey,
I pictured myself at the end of my life.
Full of regret 😔
Something broke open.
I couldn’t pretend anymore.
Heart pounding, I messaged my manager:
“I’m resigning.”

I booked a one-way ticket to Vietnam ✈️🌏
For months, I wandered through Australia and New Zealand.
Hiking.
Breathing.
Feeling alive again 🕊️
You know that feeling when all you need is to step away, to take off,
just to find yourself again?
Turkey, 2019.
I didn't know it yet... but everything was about to change.
Vietnam, Australia, NZ: where the noise fell away.
When I returned home, I had no job, no plan.
Not the greatest place to be, huh?
But I knew one thing:
I wanted to create.
To paint 🎨
A chance meeting with a local artist changed everything 🌸
She became my mentor and friend.
So grateful for that.
Under her guidance, my art evolved.
More expressive.
More alive.
More me.

🌿 Nature became my muse.
I moved from painting portraits of women,
to women in nature,
to nature itself.
It felt like coming home.

I converted our spare room downstairs into a mini studio.

to flowers and nature in 2022.

This collection began as a way to process what I was feeling, not with words, but through brushwork, colour, form, and rhythm on canvas.
Each of these four prints emerged from one creative journey, yet became a world of its own.
Created in oil paint on canvas, they explore what I was learning to embody:
Stillness. Vitality. Resilience. Hope.
Every piece reflects a personal shift, away from control and precision, toward presence, softness, and trust in something greater.

Meet Sara
Sara Ashkboos is a British artist known for her distinctive oil paintings, a blend of classical technique and expressive, modern style.
Born and raised in Leicester, England, she began drawing at age 12 and fell in love with oil painting by 15.
During the 2020 pandemic, she returned fully to painting, and everything changed.
Sara began exploring nature as her subject. She experimented with new techniques, trusted her instincts, and gradually developed a style that felt uniquely her own.
Her work blends figurative and abstract forms: recognisable shapes, with expressive emotion. While her subject matter has evolved, her connection to nature has become the heart of her work.
She gives credit to a few past teachers, but says it’s her years of personal practice and devotion that have shaped her the most.
Her favourite place is her studio in Leicester, a quiet space where imagination, colour, and presence come to life.
Her message is simple: “Do what you love and do it often.”
Today, Sara’s work hangs in homes across the UK and USA, offering a sense of calm, creativity, and connection to the natural world. Her art has been featured at a performance theatre in London and in the relaxation lounge at an award-winning spa in Melbourne, Derbyshire.
